Technicolor's connected-home business, formerly part of Thomson and renamed Vantiva in 2022, makes broadband gateways and TV set-top boxes for providers.
What Technicolor (Vantiva) makes
Technicolor and Vantiva build DSL, cable and fibre gateways, Wi-Fi extenders and set-top boxes that internet and TV providers give to customers under their own names. Older units may carry the Thomson name.
What the device on your network probably is
Most likely your provider's router or gateway. Next most likely a provider TV box or a Wi-Fi extender.
How to work out which device it is
Compare the MAC with the label on your router, TV box and extenders. The router is normally the device at your gateway IP address.
Should you be worried
Nothing to worry about: this is normally provider equipment in your home.
