Xiaomi device on my network
Xiaomi is a Chinese electronics company selling phones and a wide range of smart-home products.
What Xiaomi makes
Xiaomi makes phones, tablets, TVs and TV boxes, routers, robot vacuums, air purifiers, cameras and many Mi Home ecosystem gadgets. Many ecosystem products are made by partner companies and may show other manufacturers' names.
What the device on your network probably is
Most likely a Xiaomi phone with private addressing turned off, a robot vacuum, an air purifier or a TV box. Less often a Xiaomi camera, router or other Mi Home device.
How to work out which device it is
In the Xiaomi Home app, open a device and look in its settings for network information. Phones show the address in Wi-Fi settings. Turning appliances off one at a time also works.
Should you be worried
Normally a Xiaomi device in your home. Xiaomi sells cameras too, so if you cannot match it, check whether it is one.
The app finds every device on the Wi-Fi you are on, at home or in a rental, and puts the vendor next to the hostname, the services it advertises and its open ports, which together usually name the product. Where it cannot tell, it says so instead of guessing. Get RECON for iPhone — one-time purchase, no account, nothing leaves the device.
